Star Numbers

For each child draw a number, such as 5, and a horizontal "number line" on a piece of construction
 paper.  Give the papers to your children and set out star stickers.  Have the children identify the
 number 5 on their papers. Then let them each count out five star stickers and attach them to
 their number lines.  (Using a number line makes it easier for a child to know where to
 begin when counting.) Follow the same procedure for other numbers you are working on.
