Hooray
for the USA
(Sung to the tune of: "This Old Man")
USA! USA!
Say hooray for the USA!
On this fourth day of July,
Hold your head up high,
And say hooray for the USA.
Marching Song
(Sung to the tune of: "Battle Hymn of the
Republic")
We are (marching, marching, marching)
in the big parade today.
We are (marching,
marching, marching) in the big parade today.
We are (marching, marching, marching) in the big
parade today.
We love the USA!
If
desired, sing additional verses, substituting the words waving,
waving,
waving, and drumming, drumming, drumming for the underlined words.
On
Independence Day
(Sung to the tune of: "Mary Had A Little Lamb")
Fireworks go snap, snap, snap!
Crack, crack, crack! Zap, zap, zap!
Fireworks make me clap, clap, clap
On Independence Day!
Stars
and Stripes
(Sung to the tune of: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" )
Wave, wave, wave the flag,
As we march around.
Hold it high to show our pride,
It must not touch the ground.
Wave, wave, wave the flag,
Dear red, white and blue.
Stars and stripes forever bright,
America to you!
American Flag
(Sung to the tune of: "Frere Jacques")
What is red, what is white
What is blue, what is striped?
What has many stars, what has many stars,
Can you guess, how many there are?
Shout
Hooray For the USA
(Sung to the tune of: "If You're Happy & You Know
It")
If you love the USA, (clap you hands).
If you love
the USA, (clap you hands).
If you love the USA, (clap you hands), and say,
"Hooray!"
If you love the USA, (clap you hands).
Sing additional verses, replacing the
underlined words with the
following phrases: stomp your feet, slap your knees, and do all three.
The
Liberty Bell
Sing this song with your
little ones to remind them of the importance of
the Liberty Bell.
Before singing, tell the children that the Liberty Bell rang on July 8,
1776, to summon the public for the
first reading of the Declaration of Independence. The bell rang for
many years until a large crack formed.
(Sung to the tune of: "When the Saints Go
Marching In")
Oh,
when the bell
Rang out for freedom
On that Independence Day,
It was named the Liberty Bell,
And it rang to guide the way.
Oh, then a crack
Silenced the bell.
It now stands in dignity
As a symbol of our freedom.
It proclaims our liberty.
We Love America
(Sung to the tune of: Skip To My Lou")
We
love America; yes we do!
To our country we'll be true!
Freedom is for me and you!
Hip, hip, hooray for the red, white, and blue!
Happy Birthday
To America
(Sung
to the tune of: "Oh, Christmas Tree")
America,
America,
Happy Birthday to you!
America,
America,
It's your birthday, too.
We celebrate
Your birthday
By fireworks
And picnics too
America
America
How we love you true.
We-e love you, yes we do.
Independence
Day
(Sung
to the tune of: "Jingle Bells")
Marching
bands, clapping hands,
Drums and bugles play.
Flags in the air - everywhere.
It's a special day. Oh!
Marching bands, clapping hands,
Drums and bugles play.
Flags in the air - everywhere.
It's Independence Day!
Wave a Little
Flag
(Sung
to the tune of: "I'm a Little Teapot")
Wave a
little flag,
Red, white, and blue.
Our country belongs
To me and you.
So, all together we can say,
"Happy Independence Day!"
Happy Birthday
America
(Sung
to the tune of: "The Wheels On The Bus")
Happy
Birthday, America
Here's a picnic for you,
Picnic for you, picnic for you.
Happy Birthday America,
Here's a picnic for you
Happy Birthday to you!
Additional verses:
Here's a parade for you; Here's fireworks for you.
Holiday Parade
It's the
Fourth of July!
A parade is today.
Put on your hat,
And march this way.
March
through the town.
March down the street.
Play on your drum,
With a rat-a-tat beat.
March
through the town.
March all around.
Play on your flute,
With a root-a-toot sound.
March
through the town.
March with a smile.
Play on your horn
With a tah-rah-rah style.
Today We
Celebrate
(Sung
to the tune of: "Yankee Doodle")
Today we
celebrate the day
Our brave country was born.
It was upon this very day,
Quite early in the morn.
Happy Birthday, U.S.A,
We're proud of you today.
We'll wave our flag and shout "Hurray!"
Happy Birthday, U.S.A,
Red, White,
Blue
(Sung
to the tune of: "Three Blind Mice")
I see red, I
see red.
Red, white, blue; red, white, blue.
I see the colors red, white, and blue.
I know you see these colors too.
It's our flag flying brave and true.
Red, white, and blue.
The U.S.A
(Sung
to the tune of: "Mary Had A Little Lamb")

Summer Fun
Chant
A
flash of fireworks in the sky!
We celebrate Fourth of July
We celebrate this glorious day
In bright and beautiful display.
It's summer, ever days is hot.
Cool drinks and shade we need a lot.
Hot dog and mustard on a bun
Is my idea of picnic fun.
Is there any food you've known
That's cooler than an ice-cream cone?
Have fun with this dancing, chanting and have the children
use their
little brains to think of verses to add to it.
Flags Are
Flying
(Sung
to the tune of: "Frere Jacques")
Flags are
flying; flags are flying
Oh, so high; oh, so high.
Flying for our country,
Red and white and blue,
Flying high, in the sky.

(Sung
to the tune of: "I'm a Little Teapot")

A symbol you see.

Straight and tall,
Welcoming the people, one and all.
