America the Beautiful Book
After teaching your
children the song "America the Beautiful," get them involved in making
a class big book based on the song. Make a page for each phrase in
the song's lyrics.
Then have each child help illustrate on of the pages. For example,
a child might draw or paint
a sky scene for the words "Oh, beautiful, for spacious skies" or a
mountain scene for
"purple mountain's majesties." Ask each family to send in a
special picture or photo they feel
illustrates the beauty of our country. Attach the photo to the page
that reads "America! America!"
