Halloween Sky
Miniature silver star
stickers on black construction paper make an
effective background for a Halloween bulletin board. A witch
on her broomstick looks terrific riding across this night sky.
Budget Borders
For economical new borders,
fold long strips of bulletin board
paper accordian style. Trace simple coloring book outlines onto the
folded paper, and cut out. For example, trace pumpkins for Halloween.
Jack-o'-Lanterns
Cut bookmark size strips of
orange construction paper, squares (3 inch)
of green construction paper, black triangles (about 2 inches tall),
small circles of black, halved. Arrange the orange strips into a
teepee
shape and top with the green square for a stem.
Make the face with the triangles and circle halves.
Going Batty Over Halloween
I love making these with the kids. They paint egg
cartons...cut into sections of two.
This year we added big wiggle eyes to the tip of the cartons. This tied in
nicely with
my letter of the week too--Ee. Lots of eyes looking at us. We help them
glue the
cartons to paper bat shapes and then added them to a huge moon in the hall.
It came out great this year!

Ghostly Greats
Here is a great October
bulletin board for displaying the students'
papers. Change often and allow children to choose which papers they
would like to share with others. Encourage them to tell you Halloween
stories.
Write them down and display them on board attaching
pics of ghost around them and behind them.
Boo Who?
Who's that friendly ghost?
That's the question your little ones and their
parents will be asking when passing this "boo-tiful" hallway display.
In advance,
take a photo of each child holding a "Boo" sign. For each child, cut
out a pair
of identical ghost shapes from white construction paper; then staple them
together along the top. Program the front of each pair along with a
different
child's Boo Clue, as shown. Then glue that child's photo to the
inside. Arrange
the ghosts in a hallway display so that they can be viewed easily.
Invite
parents to read each Boo Clue, guess who the child is, and then
check their guesses by peeking under the ghost cover.
Inside cover: Ghosts are scary. Ghosts say
"Boo!" But this little ghost
Is special to you. Open it up and you will see, Who this ghost,
Really could be!
Example, Boo Clue: Pepper is my dog!
