Children may pass out papers in one-to-one correspondence
 and also help with taking the attendance.

Guess How Many

Do estimating activities.  Estimate how many marbles
 in a jar, chocolate chips per cookie; for example:

Estimate the number of marbles in a jar, children
 in the class, blocks in the box, candies in a bag.
Let everyone guess. Provide no clues.  List everyone's guess on chart paper.
  Discuss guesses.  Who guessed the most?  Who guessed the least?
  Then count and see who came the closest.

Birthday Graph

Graph the number of birthdays per month.

First Day Graph

Copy patterns of a bus, foot & car. The children choose
 the one that represents how they came to school.

Height and Weight

Measure each child's height and weight and record
 that to compare at the end of the school year.
