Recycling For Our Earth

(Sung to the tune of : "Mary had a Little Lamb")

Hear the cans go crunch, crunch, crunch,
crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch.
Hear the cans go crunch, crunch, crunch
Recycle for our earth.
Hear the bottle go ding, ding, ding,
ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Hear the bottle go ding, ding, ding
Recycle for our earth.
Hear the paper go crinkle, crinkle, crinkle,
crinkle, crinkle, crinkle, crinkle, crinkle, crinkle,
Recycle for our earth.

Beautiful Bracelets

Save the plastic rings from beverage six-packs to make beautiful bracelets.
In advance, cut apart each six-pack holder to make six circular rings.
To make a bracelet, use different colors of glue to decorate a plastic ring.
Allow the glue to dry. Then you are ready to sport a clearly interesting bracelet.

Bulletin Board

Recognize Earth Day with this display. Enlarge an earth pattern and cut it out.
Have youngsters twist green and blue pieces of tissue paper, then glue them
onto the pattern. Enlarge a child pattern. For each child, duplicate the pattern
onto skin-toned construction paper; then cut it out. Ask each child to decorate
his pattern using various art supplies so that it resembles himself. Mount the
earth and student projects on a background, adding a title if desired.

Earth Painting

Copy an earth pattern and encourage the children to paint it using blue and
green paint.  Explain that the blue represents water and green represents the land.
